The Word made flesh to transcend death.
But I don’t want to die to myself yet.
My words and my flesh feel pretty precious.
Even still—
if He’s real,
may His will
be done—how I want.
If you’ve been told it has to be perfect on your end, or if you’re the right kind of desperate, He’ll listen—Jesus came to those who didn’t even want Him. And I don’t, if I’m honest, so welcome.
And listen closely to Him listening.
If that’s all there is, I’ll keep on talking—
like mindfulness, or some kind of mantra.
Even still—
if He’s real,
may His will
be done—but how I like.
If you’ve been told it has to be perfect on your end, or if you’re the right kind of desperate, He’ll listen—Jesus came to those who didn’t even want Him. And I don’t, if I’m honest, so welcome.
“Be perfect...as your Father is perfect.”
He’ll listen.

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list,
He's checking it twice,
We’re gonna find out who's naughty or nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So you better be good for goodness’ sake
You better be good for goodness’ sake
You better watch out,
The King of the Jews
“Some say John—”
“But what about you?”
”Who is it you say that I am?”
“Who is it you say that I am?”
You see me when I’m sleeping
You know when I’m awake
You know I’ve been both bad and good
So I better be good for goodness’ sake
I better be good for goodness’ sake
Oh, you better be good for goodness’ sake
You better be good for goodness’ sake

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, Love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth

Seasonal sweaters with presents and bows—
Snowmen and trees, and sometimes a bell!
Seasonal sweaters; seasonal sweat
Na na na na na; na na na yeah!
Acrylics and yarn, rayons and knits...
Seasonal sweaters provide the best fit!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah…

Guilty (Alex G Cover)
03:35
|
|||
Are you guilty? Are you waiting to be found?
Do you think that you'd be happier with no one else around?
Are you hiding? Will the trial never come?
Baby, I've got news.
Is the truth trapped behind iron lock and key?
Have you buried all the evidence of what you used to be?
Has the question become darker than the answer?
Baby, I've good news.

Look closely at the shadows at the ground beneath the trees — the labors of Hercules.
Wild grasses on the hills rippling in the wind — Cybele unchained.
The songs you sing at Christmas time, the stories that you tell—well I knew them well. Yes I knew them well.
Say your prayers to whomever you call out to in the night. Keep the chains tight. Make it through this year if it kills you outright.
The coins they toss at dancers whirling in the city square—music on the air.
The places where we met to share our secrets now and then—we will see them again.
Change will come. Stay warm inside the ripple of the Panasonic hum—it grinds and it roars. Headed somewhere better If I have to crawl there on all fours.
So say your prayers to whomever you call out to in the night. Keep the chains tight. Make it through this year if it kills us outright.
