[Originally as Bathwater For Jessie, August 2020]

I built an automatic looping machine that works like a kaleidoscope on little melodic snippets. Then I asked my friends to send me phone recordings to feed it, of them improvising on their instruments in their spaces. I ran them through the looper, and arranged the best bits into simple songs over a beat.

(An ode to intimacy within quarantined repetition.)

[The main looping material for each track was generated in VCV Rack, relying specifically on stacks of the NYSTHI Simpliciter module. Additional sampling done with the Korg Volca Sample and Segmenti for the Organelle.]
